IMPACT 2012

The Impact 2012 report provides a snapshot of how our community has been progressing in achieving our ten-year Bold Goals in the interrelated areas of Education, Income, Health and Home.  Reaching our Bold Goals will help to transform our community into one where everyone  has the aspirations, resources and opportunities to reach their potential.  The Bold Goals also represent a clear , sustainable pathway out of poverty for the thousands of people in central Ohio who are in the most need.

The leading indicators  in the report provide a holistic view of where the people of our community stand.  Taken together they offer greater depth and detail in understanding our progress in attaining the Bold Goals, and clearly show where we must do better.

Through United Way, donors, advocates and volunteers are working to achieve our community's Bold Goals by making effective investments that create concrete, measurable results and by  mobilizing our community to create transformative change.  All of this work, combined with the tremendous efforts of the local business, government, nonprofit and education communities help to build positive momentum that is reflected in many of  the leading indicators.

In many areas our community has moved forward over the last year.  In others, the lingering effects of the economic recession and the decade-long growth in poverty has continued to have significant negative effects.  Impact 2012 outlines these trends and provides  the information we need to evaluate our progress as we continue to improve lives and strengthen our community.
