We have long embraced diversity among our core values. Quite simply, diversity is encoded in our DNA.
Diversity and inclusion inform every aspect of our work at United Way of Central Ohio. We are continually aware of the importance of racial disparities and create strategies to reduce them.
We seek the input of a broad range of partners to help us develop solutions that will result in long-lasting change. And we are committed to creating initiatives which are designed to ensure a more diverse leadership to central Ohio—and a brighter future for all.
In 2007, United Way of Central Ohio commissioned a Disparities Report by Community Research Partners to determine the prevalence of racial disparities in our community.
Also in 2007, United Way worked with Columbus AIDS Taskforce and Stonewall Columbus to conduct the GLBT Census. The anonymous online survey of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender central Ohioans provides information which will help deliver human services to this population.
United Way of Central Ohio Diversity and Inclusion Policy – Statement of Principle
United Way of Central Ohio will continually strive to be a model of diversity and inclusion. Our Board of Trustees, staff, and volunteers must reflect the many faces, and walks of life, which proudly make up our nation. Together we genuinely demonstrate the principles of diversity and inclusion which enrich our community.
