Description

I'm Nancy, from Westerville. I was a Columbus public school teacher for 10 years, but now I stay at home with my two sons. When my son, Ethan, was 2 years old, he wasn't talking the way he should. I was concerned that he had a speech delay. I took him to Columbus Speech & Hearing where he was diagnosed with severe articulation delay and moderate receptive speech delay. He was enrolled in the two-year-old program and started working with a private speech therapist.

Today Ethan is 5 years old and ready for kindergarten. He used to sit quietly and not talk. Now he contributes to our family conversations. He recalls things from his day, and he even tells jokes. I like to say that Columbus Speech & Hearing has been a life preserver for Ethan. They pulled him ashore and taught him how to communicate with others. I am so grateful for what this organization has done for my son and for our entire family. I want others to know that these kids really need one-on-one attention—and they get it at Columbus Speech & Hearing.
