Programs
American Red Cross
Health & Safety Services
The intent of the Health and Safety Services program is to prepare citizens to save lives. Citizens who learn First Aid, CPR, and other life-saving skills and demonstrate the confidence to apply these skills save individuals from the destructive consequences of loss of life and disability including grief, loss of income, and social dislocation.
Disaster Preparedness & Readiness
Disaster Readiness and Preparedness activities are executed with the intent of making our communities and families better able to prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters.
Disaster Response
This program is designed to meet the emergency disaster-caused needs of individuals and families made victims by disasters ranging from a single-home fire to major disasters affecting whole communities. Emergency response is cost-effective and community-based and includes food, shelter, health related services, and financial assistance for groceries, new clothes, rent, emergency home repairs, transportation, and medicines to help individuals and families resume their normal daily activities independently.
Central Ohio Poison Center
COPC Emergency & Disaster Preparedness
This program’s intent is to have a sustaining community-based infrastructure in place which is prepared to respond to community emergencies or disasters. This program provides immediate expert information, and have procedures, plans, communication tools, and trained staff in place, which are prepared to support key partners/community based organizations in all types of emergencies and disasters.
Central Ohio Trauma System
Central Ohio Trauma System
The Central Ohio Trauma System addresses barriers to improving trauma, emergency and disaster care in Central Ohio. The ultimate outcome of this work is better emergency care with reduced morbidity and mortality after life-threatening conditions.
HandsOn Central Ohio
Disaster Preparedness & Response
This program promotes citizen preparedness and supports professional responders by harnessing the power of volunteers during disasters. Programming activities include: preparedness education including special needs groups and preparedness and response training for volunteers and agencies.
Salvation Army
Emergency Disaster Services - Response
The Salvation Army’s Emergency Disaster Service-Response Program assists low-income individuals/ families living in Franklin County who are unable to meet their immediate needs due to experiencing an individual emergency/disaster.
