Professional Development
The program’s intent is to increase early care and education professionals’ knowledge and skills related to supporting and enhancing children’s age-appropriate development in the physical, emotional, social and cognitive domains.
Information and Referral
The intent of this program is to assist Franklin County families in finding, assessing and selecting quality child care and early education programs for their children and to increase the supply of quality settings. The program maintains a comprehensive database of all regulated child care and early education programs in the community.
Central Community House
Child Care
This Child Care Program offers affordable and subsidized early learning child care for approximately 72 low-income children ages six weeks to five years old. This accredited program focuses on Kindergarten readiness using a creative approach which defines age-appropriate development.
Children's Hunger Alliance
Multi-Cultural Quality Care
The goal of this program is to expand access to quality child care and early childhood education in low-income and multicultural communities. Staff recruits providers, assist with certification, and provide culturally competent training in early childhood education.
Columbus Early Learning Centers
Early Childhood Education
The goal of this program is to create high-quality learning environments that help 300 children, birth to 5 years, develop the cognitive, physical and social/emotional skills needed for school success.
Columbus Speech and Hearing Center
Early Detection
The ability to communicate is a basic and critical component for academic readiness. This program will identify children with speech, language and hearing problems through its screening and evaluation program components and provide appropriate referral recommendations and resources to parents/guardians.
Early Intervention
The intent of this program is for young children to improve their speech/language skills, early literacy, social development, and pragmatic skills so they are able to enter kindergarten ready to succeed. This early intervention program provides speech/language/occupational therapy services to children who are identified as having a speech/language delay or disorder.

Ready, Set, Grow
The Ready, Set, Grow program works to improve the quality of social, emotional, and cognitive support children receive at home so they can begin school ready to learn. As a result of services, children improve their school readiness skills and parents experience greater involvement with their child and demonstrate an increased knowledge of their child’s developmental stages.
Gladden Community House
Preschool
Far too many children in the low-income, high-risk Franklinton community start out school a few steps behind their more resource-rich peers and never catch up. This program addresses this community problem by offering two half-day school year classes and one full-day year-round classes, with a total capacity of 41 children each year.
Neighborhood House
Child Day Care
This childcare program is designed to serve low-income, African-American children ages 0-5 residing in zip codes 43203 and 43205. This program provides the following developmental domains: physical health, emotional, social and motor development, language, communication and cognitive development.
South Side Settlement House
Young Children's Program
This Young Children’s Program engages youth ages 3 to 5 years old, in a lively learning community using the Creative Curriculum. This curriculum provides experiences and content that encourages physical, social, cognitive and emotional development.

Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation
The Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation program provides in-depth, weekly, on going mental health consultation to thirteen low-income serving childcare centers as well as the therapeutic preschool at St. Vincent Family Centers.
Early Childhood Resource Network
The Early Childhood Resource Network preschool program addresses the need to complete developmental screenings for children three through five years of age in order to identify developmental delays and disabilities and obtain services for these delays.
