cols-fam-marketBecause many chronic health conditions – including diabetes, overweight and obesity – are related to poor nutrition, Columbus Public Health holds three farmers markets each year in an effort to bring healthier food to Columbus neighborhoods. This program allows women and children participating in the WIC Program an opportunity to get free fresh fruits and vegetables.

Volunteer Opportunity

Volunteers are needed in a variety of ways at the farmers market including line control, water distribution, assisting customers with purchases to their vehicles, set-up, tear down, clean-up, and more.

This volunteer opportunity takes place:

From 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 28, August 4 and August 11. Volunteers do not have to commit to all dates.
