Neighborhood-based settlement house promoting strong families and a strong community in the Near North Side of Columbus has been serving the community since 1898. Godman Guild meets community members where they are to provide the support necessary to help individuals achieve success in life. The Guild provides a diverse range of programs and services designed to promote self-sufficiency and leadership development.
Volunteer Opportunity
To assist tutoring students working to obtain their G.E.D. Key Responsibilities include assisting with instruction geared toward individual learning styles and needs, providing assistance both in groups and one-on-one in areas of reading, writing, social studies, and mathematics, assisting instructors with other classroom tasks such as grading, and participating in class exercises, such as team building, and providing regular feedback to instructors regarding student progress. Benefits include experiencing the direct result of involvement with an individual teaching them new skills, and gaining and strengthening teaching skills.
