The charitable deduction allows donors to deduct contributions to charities from their taxes.

Congressional leaders are expected to consider changes to the charitable tax deduction in the Senate Finance Committee hearing on October 18. It is crucial that United Way of Central Ohio donors and supporters contact our U.S. Senators and share the importance of preserving the charitable tax deduction.

The current economic recession has resulted in a decline in contributions to charities.  Placing limits on charitable giving tax incentives would further reduce charitable contributions.  Join United Way of Central Ohio in helping Congress and the Administration recognize the importance the charitable tax deduction plays in enabling charities to meet the unprecedented demand for critical community-based services.
