Who will be the 2012 Champions of Children?

There are many engaged individuals and non-profit organizations that are making a deep, far-reaching, and lasting impression on the lives of children. We want to recognize these deserving people and organizations as Champions of Children and we need your help to find them.

Please nominate individuals and/or nonprofits with an established record of outstanding service for children, for the Champion of Children Award.

Deadline for Nominations is October 14, 2011

‚ To be considered a Champion of Children in the Individual category, the nominee should:

  • Epitomize the power of one.
  • Make a difference in the lives of children in central Ohio.
  • Inspire a broad community response.
  • Have a deep and far-reaching impact.
  • Embody characteristics of leadership, persistence, innovation, and commitment.
  • Envision a better tomorrow for all children.

Please submit the following materials:  

  • Please describe, in no more than two typed pages, how your nominee demonstrates the above characteristics. 
  • Two additional letters of support may be included with your nomination.

New for 2012!

Non-Profit Organization category includes a $5,000 prize to support the winning organization's mission.

To be considered a Champion of Children in the Non-Profit Organization category, the nominee should:

  • Highlight best practices within the educational continuum with an emphasis in kindergarten readiness and/or high school graduation.
  • Make a difference in the lives of children in central Ohio.
  • Inspire others by having a proven record of success.
  • Have a deep and far-reaching impact.
  • Embody characteristics of leadership, quality in service, show innovation, collaborate with others, and respect diversity.
  • Provide replicable methodology and results.
  • Envision a better tomorrow for all children.

Please submit the following materials:  

  • Please describe, in no more than two typed pages, how the organization demonstrates the above characteristics. 
  • Provide data and examples  that outline how the Non-Profit Organization is a Champion of Children
  • Two additional letters of support may be included with your nomination.

These  two awards will be presented annually and the recipients will be honored at the 19th Annual Champion of Children Signature Event to be held on February 7, 2012.    The award winners must be available to attend the event.
