At Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter, we believe that thorough knowledge of the law is not enough. Our experience shows that outstanding and effective legal counsel requires a combination of this knowledge along with a firm grasp of our clients' business and a sharing of their goals. At Kegler, Brown, Hill & Ritter, our first order of business is knowing yours.

Leadership Endorsement

A definite key to success at Kegler Brown is support of the leadership of the United Way campaign. The partners at the firm endorse and add value to the campaign at many levels. The employees of the firm are inspired by leadership’s commitment to United Way. They show their support in a variety of ways. Key leaders will speak at meetings to talk about their personal support of United Ways work in the community. The partners not only get behind the campaign by making their own personal pledge, but they also donate prizes that are raffled off to others within the firm that support United Way. The firm’s partners also volunteer their services at the kickoff breakfast where they can be found serving a pancake breakfast to the staff. The staff enjoy the event and it creates another opportunity for the leadership to endorse the campaign to all employees.

Tiered Campaign

Kegler Brown has a tiered approach to their campaign. During the planning stages the coordinator assigns three people to run the campaign for the three varying levels in the firm. They are broken down by partners, associates and staff. The person assigned to each group is able to ask fellow employees to join them in supporting United Way at a peer level.  These three separate groups are still able to unite on the campaign through events such as Community Care Day and fundraiser lunches that are held during the campaign, but having a tiered approach has allowed the message to be different at the varying levels. At the partner level the emphasis is placed more on leadership giving, while at the staff level participation is encouraged with a suggestion to slightly increase your gift from the prior year.

Show Appreciation

Showing appreciation for the staff members that contribute to United Way is a very important at Kegler Brown. The leadership supports the campaign once more by hosting an appreciation luncheon for the staff that have given to United Way. This recognition event is held off site at the Hyatt Regency and the staff really look forward to this gathering at the close of the campaign. During the luncheon they have a raffle of highly sought after items. Many of the items are donated by the partners, but Kegler also taps into their vendors to contribute items for the raffle as well. Some of the employees will showcase their talents and donate items they have made as well. There are many opportunities for the staff to obtain raffle tickets, most of which are tied to pledging, such as turning in pledge early, being a first time donor, increasing from prior year, to name a few.
