We incorporate technology that is efficient and secure to offer you a complete, integrated solution for process automation, data management, and for sharing information.
Quick Tips:
- Encourage early participation with incentives that are greater for initial donors.
- Say thanks, and include information about where the money is going.
- If there’s a personal story to relate, tell it face-to-face.
Leadership Involvement
In addition to an overall company goal, COTT believes in the importance of an executive goal as well, so people know that executives and owners support the program and contribute generously, with a goal of 100% executive participation. Emphasizing the commitment of leadership sends the message to associates that the company is not asking them to do anything that the company is not willing to do itself and provides added value to the overall campaign.
Teamwork Works
For COTT, having a strong leadership team is essential to the campaign’s success. Everyone on the leadership team is equally important, and an equal contributor. Involvement is encouraged at all levels. In fact, company-wide surveys allow employees to vote on what activities to support and what types of events and promotions to sponsor. By allowing associates input and feedback, COTT raises the interest and involvement of everyone.
Spreading the word is an interactive exercise at COTT. They take the message to associates in their departments, making it a convenient, easy and participatory experience that encourages people feel involved. With dual goals of participation and average dollar contribution per department, and rewards for meeting participation levels, camaraderie is established that boosts participation.
Overcome Objections
Although there is often news coverage of mismanaged funds in charitable organizations, United Way of Central Ohio has a strong track record and story to tell. By citing specific examples of successes, particularly if they can be related in a personal way, objections and skepticism can be put to rest, and the positive impact United Way has on the community can be incorporated in the appeal. COTT stresses having people feel informed when they are giving, so they will feel that they are contributing to something that is making a difference.
