Being Prepared for a Disaster is Sometimes the Difference Between Life and Death

The primary goal of this media initiative is to educate and motivate Franklin County residents to become better prepared to respond to large community disasters or personal emergencies.

United Way of Central Ohio is partnering with the American Red Cross of Greater Columbus and WBNS 10-TV to ensure individuals and families learn the basic steps of being prepared and become actively involved in readiness planning. Through this partnership, people will learn about the importance of disaster and emergency preparedness, gain the tools they need to ensure their family is ready to respond in the face of an emergency, and also know where to turn for additional training like CPR and First Aid.
